I had an acute fracture of the first metatarsal 25 days ago after a heavy electric radiator style heater fell over onto my bare foot. Have been very good about elevating and not bearing weight, and bone is healing well. However, the toes are numb..... any thoughts or similar experiences? Doctor suggests nerve damage from the trauma. Wondering how long before I can expect normal sensation to return.

I can takes months of the sensation to return and there s a possibility of some permanent damage.
Depends how much nerve damage was due to the trauma and how much of the abnormal sensation is just due to pressure on the nerves from the swelling.
