3 fractured metatarsals and 1 dislocated big toe - still sore 10 weeks later

so, I broke Metatarsals 2, 3, and 4 playing soccer on Dec 28th, 2012...they were fractured, not a complete break...and dislocated my big toe. I wore my boot for 4-6 weeks gradually taking it off and wearing running shoes to transition to normal..I'm now 10 weeks out from the break and i'm allowed to jog and begin normal routines now...i ran 10mins on Tues and 8.5mins yesterday before my foot said "no more..." the doctor said that I would probably be able to run for about 10mins at first, so this isn't bothering me...

what is strange thought is that the location of the breaks feel fine, but my arch and top of my foot (along the tendon of my big toe) are still sore. Is this normal? My whole foot hurt when I began to walk normal again (particularly toes 2, 3, 4), but that pain has subsided and the arch and top of the foot pain has replaced it. Everyday I stretch with a tennis ball, stretch my foot, stretch my Achilles, and do foot strengthening exercises...how long have other people's pain lasted? My soccer season is right around the corner and I really need to start running again to get into shape so I can play...

    Thoughts?

    Thanks....

It sounds like you are doing everything right, and with Dr. supervision. My nephew hurt himself playing soccer. Had Dr. supervision, was told he could start playing, but he started to soon and is now sidelined again. Take your time to heal, it will be better in the long run, no pun intended for soccer.

played soccer last night...kinda took it easy...did a few sprints and took some shots with the foot...HOLY CRAP is it sore today...the metatarsals that were broken are sore, not broken sore, but sore from use i believe...they are not sore to the touch, but certain movements are a bit sore. Plus, my ankle is weak...wow...i can't believe the atrophy...
