    Hi everyone,

This is a little embarrassing and I've never really shared problems like these before but I kind of have nowhere else to turn to and having some answers about nail infections could really help. I hope you bear with me.

Over the winter of course I never really wore shoes that were open and frankly allowed my feet and toenails to breathe. And i'm guilty as the next person reusing socks (please tell me I'm not the only one who's done it) - I know it's dirty and really really unhygienic, but some days are just going too fast. And with the closed boots all season, I noticed now that my big toes are changing color, getting brittle and on some days smelled bad (not the regular feet smell ok). I think my nails are infected. I read that it could be a fungal infection?

Anyway folks I really don't feel like losing both my big toenails to this thing. With the weather improving I'm making it a point this Spring to wear shoes that make my feet breathe, clean them out and really change socks everyday. But I need your help and advice. has anyone had a nail fungus infection? What did you do? Can you treat it at home? I mean, I don't want to raise too many health alarms and I think this is treatable at home, right? Can you please suggest some at home remedies or cures I can do at home? That would be very helpful!

    Hi!

First of all, honestly, there is nothing to be ashamed of. I think an infection - and yes I believe that is a nail fungal infection you have - can happen to everyone, especially with all these closed shoes and damp cold around.

I've had one of those before (see, no shame) and I can tell you that I tried a number of things to yes, keep my toenail just as you'd like to do (don't we all?). I tried some creams, foot soak, medicines prescribed by doctors, and then, lastly, this laser device that you basically clip on your infected nail and it works like magic in getting rid of the infection. I used it for like 5-7 minutes on each nail about 3 times a day for a couple of weeks to a month I think. It actually worked, and I got my healthy nails back.

Now I'm never worried about taking my socks off or wearing some man-sandals when the summer comes. it's definitely safe and effective and worked super fast than any of those other cures combined! I recommend looking into it and giving it a try.

Hope it helps! nail infections really can happen to anyone, but these can be cured.

    Hi guys!

I hope it's ok to join the party. I actually know about the laser device mentioned below. I've been there too with the nail fungus and the walk of shame and the I'm never taking these shoes off and never getting a pedicure or having a foot spa whatever happens phase, and it was the hardest! But our nails can heal and they can do it fast with the right treatment!

The laser device in question I used was called Cure Ex and my sister, bless her heart got it from a site called pain relief online as a birthday present for me cause 1) she has a sense of humor like that and 2) she couldn't stand the sight and smell of my infected toenail and she knew I was too scared to see a doctor or take meds for it (go ahead please look it up). It works that way, just put it on your infected nail and let the laser light treat the fungus infection because fungus can't stand light, and the bacteria underneath just dies and never comes back. You dont even feel anything when you're using it and it has no restrictions. Before the cure ex we tried the foot soaks - i liked the tea tree oil ones - they were nice and relaxing too, but honestly they take a while to work, unlike the device.

There's no reason for prolonging the agony, so I highly recommend getting it treated now to avoid worsening. Plus, it's flip flops weather soon, so the thought of nice and healthy toenails should put you in better spirits and really send you out there for the best and most effective fungus treatment!

    Good luck!!

hi! I read your post and followed the comments - and I'm happy to say that I'm one of the believers in the Cure Ex laser nail fungus treatment device! All the time I was reading your post I was like, yeah, cure ex for that and I was pleasantly surprised that it's been recommended to you, too. My now-husband and I planned a beach wedding and I almost wasn't able to wear this really gorgeous pair of strappy sandals because of my nasty toenail fungus, and I tried everything else too. Luckily the cure ex worked in time, and I was able to wear my sandals and get happily married! it worked really fast, didn't need to take any meds along with it, or apply topical creams. that laser is just pure magic. Hope you've had a chance to try it!

    Hello everyone!!

(Wow that most recent reply just came in before my update, huh? Pure magic!)

A big thank you for all your help!!! I did give the cure ex device a try and if i could change one thing it would be to have tried the device sooner!! Thank you so much for all your help. it worked even faster than I expected, and I'm just so happy. I'm wearing flip flops and sandals again because it's finally that weather - and with the cure, I certainly can, with all the confidence I can muster.

And shoutout to LauBeachBabe, I've tried it, and it's working (even if you're a little late to the party - there's still a lot to celebrate).

Hello waterschole! Fungal nail infection is usually suspected if ones nails can be broken easily, are thickened, with change in colour, detaching from the nail bed, have increased dirt or debris underneath, with change in shape and loss of their shiny surface. You can use vitamin E Oil for fungus treatment. You can soak a cotton pad in vitamin E oil and apply it on your infected fingers. It might take a bit of time before the fungus stars to clear up but the results are guaranteed. One of my friends had nail infection . She uses Miracle Foot Pain Relief Cream to get rid of pain caused by infection and also include green leafy vegetables, nuts like walnuts, Indian Nuts in diet for healthy nails. You can also check the same.
    Hope this could help you!

  8. I tried Cure-Ex for 4 months (religiously) and it was not effective. The problem was in trying to return it for the 6-month money back guarantee. iSkin Products acknowledged receipt of the unit and informed me the refund would be processed in a few business days. Two months later and no refund; also, no returned calls or responses to emails. BEWARE! Similar stories on Better Business Bureau website.

    Hi all,

As someone who suffered from all his toes being affected by fungus in the past, I thought I’d share my experience. I haven’t heard of the laser treatment, but I did try all the other lotions, home remedies, etc, and nothing made any difference at all. I then went to the doctor, who prescribed me some tablets which worked perfectly. I took them, with no side effects, as the infected nail grew out. And have had no problem since then. I know some people don’t like the idea of tablets, but we take them for all sorts of things so I didn’t see an issue. Just my experience.

So I can't take the tablets because of the side effects... did any of the proposed remedies really work?
