    Hi All
6 weeks ago I had my big toe fused. A recent X-ray confirmed the toe is fully fused and therefore I can start walking and cycling again. However on walking I have discomfort at the tip of my fused toe. I know it’s early days but was wondering if anyone has had this type of discomfort and if so does it subside or ????

Pull the liner of your shoe out and see if there is an impression from the tip of the toe in the shoe. The toe can no longer move out of the way when your heel lifts of the ground, when you walk. (It might not have been able to move out of the way before the surgery.) A shoe with a rocker tip might reduce the pain at the tip of the toe. A rocker tip shoe is thicker under the ball of the foot and thinnest at the tip of the toe. Clogs, most running shoes, and some hiking boots have rocker tips.
