    Five years ago i had these bumps/nodules that came up on top of my feet. some are firm and some are not so firm. for the most part theyre flesh colored.my GP referred me to a dermatologist and all these years and two biopsies later i still dont know what they are. i was tested specifically for fungal infection, lichen planus, and hiv, and thank god everything was negative. my first punch biopsy showed a "lymphohistiocytic inflammatory cell infiltrate", my second was a biopsy from inside my foot under the skin and that showed "inflammed fat". they seem to come out more from may-sept. can someone please help me? my dermatologist keeps telling me to come back if theyre bothersome and theyve always been bothersome, but jus in appearance

    Those pictures aren't very clear, so i'm not sure what they are.

    The results of your biopsies are fairly specific though.

    The dermatologist must be confident they are benign, so that's why he isn't worried about them.

    Skin is a fairly complicated organ, so there are lots of thing that can go awry, but not cause problems. I'd agree with your dermatologist and not do anything unless they cause a problem.

    I have an expression that i say when patients complain of ugly feet;
    "if feet were supposed to look good, we'd have them on our heads, instead of being hidden at the end of our legs."

    thanks for your input, i can be somewhat of a worrywart, and i look a lot of things up although i probably shouldn't worry myself. i visited another derm today for a yearly follow up i do and shes a new one since my regular one switched specialties. she didnt do a biopsy but felt around and said they looked and felt like benign oil gland tumors and theres nothing to do blah blah ur cursed with ugly feet. and after ur witty quote im learning to become more okay with that lol but is this common in feet? everything ive researched (that i probably shouldnt have) says theyre more common on the scalp and eye and mine are a long ways away from that

    Benign growth of all types are quite common.

    If it is a big concern then your dermatologist should be able to do something, such as anti-inflammatory creams or excision.

    But all treaments come with risks, and in the event of something that isn't giving you any problems, leaving it alione would be safer.
