Can you wiggle your littlest toe independently?

This seems weird and silly, I know, but I'm asking seriously.

A few years ago I noticed that my two smallest toes on both feet were curling under. And If I tried to wiggle my little toe, my three smallest toes all wiggled at once. I asked a podiatrist about this before and he basically said it was no big deal, but for some reason it really irks me for my feet to be this big lifeless claw that I can't control with my brain.

Anyone else have lifeless baby toes that move only as a unit? My husband has really good dexterity on all his toes. Most people who I've weirded out by asking have no problem wiggling their baby toe by itself.

Ever since I noticed this I've been trying homespun physical therapy on my toes involving wearing Yoga sandals everywhere (these are like flip flops but with a separater between each toe and a thicker sole) and I use "therapeutic toe separators" when I'm relaxing. I can finally, after several years of bizarre toe wiggling fixation, make my baby toes twitch, and my toes don't longer curl under as much but considering all my hard work it isn't much.

I would judge that most people cannot flex or extend their fifth toe independently of the 3rd and 4th toes. And what would you need to do that for if your could?

Does one need to wink one eye, or curl ones tongue? ;):p

I don't know. I think a lot of people can wiggle it. Maybe not most. In my corner of the world, me and my dewclaw are a minority.

One way or another, those gel toe separators and toe exercises feel very relaxing.

I can wiggle my little toes independently however i do not know anyone else who can so it is normal not to have control over it

  5. Really? that means, you could wiggle only your 3rd toe, or your 4th?
