Hi I have an ingrown toenail as a result of a battery (not a reg AA one lol) falling on my toe, nail came off , nurse said yea fine it'll grown back(she didn't check the nail bed or X-ray or nothing) so nail grows and is fine for few months then it hit bump on nailbed and started to appear as if it was end of toe and so became ingrown,(weeks and weeks to get appointment ) then new nurse says it's ingrown and it has a granuloma on the side covering some of the nail, I know gross. Nail is normalish colour anyway have appointment to remove nail etc but nurse just said cover it till then now with what? I used the mepore dressing she suggested and omg it just hurts and then to change it it kills unless I change it every hour! (So it hasn't stuck down) I used a hydrocolloid dressing(they r going to remove the granuloma anyway) would these be ok to use till then it hurts less with them and I do have neosporin. I don't want to use them if they make it worse though as I assumed a nurse should know what she's doing but now I'm not sure, help

Anything that keeps it clean will do; perhaps with an antiseptic to prevent infection.
