It has been suggested to help my foot alignment and pain that among other procedures I have an FHL tendon transfer for PTT repair. My FDL tendon was already used during a failed procedure about a year ago.

My question is if there are repercussions to taking the FHL tendon from the big toe. My toe is already slightly raised from previous surgeries and I wasn't sure if taking the tendon would create other issues with that toe. Any insite would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Yes you will loose function from that and may or may not create issues. It is often not that bad. It all depends on how severe the PTT problem is. Its trade-offs. Make sure you have a good discussion with your surgeon about that.

Thank you, my problem is pretty severe and I have had in-depth conversations with them about it and all my options at this point, she just said most don't have issues in regards to taking the FHL tendon and it's the only option left in terms of tendon work. I appreciate your response.
