I had a fracture in my fifth metarsal 11 months ago. It was due to excessive walking and dance.
I saw a doctor right away and it was exrayed and I was told nothing was broken. I went home and the pain continued so went back a second time upon which they did an mri. Again it came back as nothing was fractured. Again I continued to live with it and eventually went back a third time and was finally sent to nuclear imaging. This is where they found the fracture. Only problem was it was 3months after the injury and had began to heal so was told that the injury initially should of been cast. But now nothing could be done except was told it could take a year to heal. It was bothering me off and on but the last couple weeks I feel like it's starting to refracture as I'm experiencing a lot of pain in it. Is this possible??
I've had little faith in doctors since this injury was so overlooked

There is possible a wide range of tissue damage associated with the "fracture" and in the tissues around the area. Suggest you get to a physical therapist for some mobilization and an exercise program for it.
