My husband has some bad foot problems. His feet at the bottom are dried and has deep deep cracks in them. He says that it hurts when he walks. He is a construction worker and wears leather boots every day. He actually peels chunks of skin off. It's really disgusting and I purchased all kinds of stuff. He won't go to the doctors because he cannot take time off of work especially the way the economy is.

Deep cracks and fissures in the skin of the feet are potentially hazardous as they are often an easy portal for bacteria and ensuing infection. It may be far more risky and costly for him to sustain such an infection and be out of work for a protracted period or even worse. See a dermatologist.

heres some things he can do to help:
-always wear sox, especially ones that will cover and cushion the pain spots
-MOISTURIZE- use thick moisture creams and let them dry before walking
    - elevate foot above water while taking a shower (this will prevent body bacteria from getting into the foot cracks)
-soak foot individually in clean, hot water, then use pumice to get rid of dead skin
    -MOISTURIZE!
-make sure there is enough vitamins in his diet. extra bananas, or a glass of orange juice could do the trick, or start taking vitamins
    - elevate feet and.....
    - MOISTURIZE anytime you take off or put or shoes, or sit down, or go to bed, or after a shower......
