    Hi

I have a problem with my heel.

Around July whilst running I twisted my ankle slightly. The day after I had a strange feeling on my heel when I applied weight to it. I rested 2 days, went running and the following day I couldn't put any weight on it without pain across the whole bottom of the heel.

After 3 weeks of rest the pain was gone and instead when I walked I felt a strange tingling. This also went away after another 2 week. Once i had no more issues I went running.. over the space of 1 week I did 3 short runs.

The pain didn't come back like before but I did feel something strange in my heel after the 3rd so I opted to rest it, however around 48-72hours after this last run, I noticed when I put weight on my foot, on the inside of my heel and tingle would run up from the bottom of the heel and up the side, always at the same place. This happened on almost every step. It's not painful but concerns me enough that I think if I did go running it would move into being painful!. I don't do a job which involves much walking so it's quite easy to rest it.

After another 4 weeks of rest it was almost gone and the tingle only happened if I tilted my foot to apply pressure directly to the heel. Then whilst walking downstairs I tripped, and landed heavily on my foot. 3 days later it seemed I was back to where I was after the 3 runs with the tingle happening on every step. So now I am once again resting, hoping its going to go away. So far it's been 2 weeks and the tingle is still present.

I have been to the doctors but they were not very helpful and just told me to rest it for a few weeks.

I have also noticed that when I wake up in the morning the area on the inside of my foot, just beneath the round ball shaped ankle bone is sometimes sore, but goes away after 5-10minutes. Another strange issue is that if I have to walk for more than 10 minutes, which has happened twice since doing this, the area around my small toe and the one next to it begins to feel numb.

If anyone has any advice on what exactly this is or whether it will go away I would really apprieciate it as I really want to it to heal so that I can run again, as it's been almost 4 months!

    Thanks

After reading the forum I have decided that perhaps going to see a podiatrist or a sports physio may be the answer. Although expensive I really would like this fixed, even though it is not painful, I am scared to run on it until the tingle has gone incase I make it worse, or should I go running and see what happens?

Any advice on whether this is the way to go with this would be much appreiciated
