Almost 2 months ago i ran on my wet deck nd slipped off with my leg behind me and my foot all the way back and my butt landing on it. I really thought i broke my foot for sure. I immediatley had a big swollen bump on top of my mid foot and brusing. I never had all that much ankle pain. My xrays were negative. I went to podiatry and he put me in a cast which was the only thing that has helped me. I am a stay at home mom to 4 children. They took they cast off a week ago and put me in a noot and I am in severe pain where I cant even sleep at night :-(. I forced my doc to do an MRI. The MRI says, increased T2 signal at the extensor digitorum at the anterolatetal aspect of the ankle. Midlu adjacent soft tiasue edema.
Absent visualization at the ATFL which is likely torn. So what does that mean? When I asked my doctor he couldnt tell me? I asked him how bad was it torn. And he said there is no degree of tears, just like when a paper gets torn. I didnt underatand that!
i am in severe pain even when just doing nothing, just laying down. Is this normal? And my mri didnt say anything about my midfoot which is where my injury was. It is in the location of a lisfranc ligament. Would this be seen on a mri? My foot is in so much pain all the way up the front to my knee.
