I fractured my fifth metatarsal on 17 weeks ago. I was told finally at the 15 week mark it was healed and to slowly start putting pressure on it. I am currently still on crutches because when pressure is allowed on my foot the pain is unstandable. I am 15 years old and need some answers. My doctor told me I didn't need to see a specialist because he knew what he was doing, although i have been told by many that I should probably go see one. There is a hard bump where i fractured it almost like a bone that isnt there on my other foot. What might this be? Is another xray a good idea? Is this usual? Is there some kind of foot brace I can put on with a shoe or something? Please respond.

Ethical and legal consideration restrain a doctor from offering treatment advice to a minor without the presence and permission of a parent. Have your parents speak with your doctor and/or opt for a specialist.
