Is this normal? I still have a bunion after surgery

I had bunion surgery ten weeks ago and have completed all of my post-op appointments, and began rehab. My foot has some swelling and is sore which I know is normal, but I still have a very large bunion. The doctor said that she did not completely straighten the big toe because of the way shoes are made...she did not discuss this with me prior to the surgery or I would have told her not to do this. She did not seem concerned with the swelling and said it will subside. However, she did state that I will still have a bump.

I am going in for surgery on my left foot in five weeks. The doctor randomly said that she can go back in and straighten the big toe while she performed bunion surgery on the left foot. I find it suspicious because I did not even ask her to do this. She stated that she can go back in on the right foot, break my big toe, and put a screw in the toe so that it is straight. She said there would be a gap but could not tell me how large of a gap... The same procedure would be performed on the left foot. I am not understanding why she did not do that to begin with or even discuss this with me. This is what I was under the impression she was going to do when we discussed the surgery during the pre-op.

I attached a picture of the latest x-ray of my right foot at about eight weeks post-op. I am very concerned and worried about this, I do not know what to do or if I should let her correct the big toe. I don't want to end up with a big gap creating an even bigger problem. The soonest I could get a second opinion with an orthopedic surgeon is in four weeks, but that only leaves me ten days prior to the scheduled surgery date.

*I would really like to know if the x-ray looks normal or if she completely screwed up the surgery. I understand my toes are very slated, but like I said the bunion is still very prominent. It does not even look like she performed the surgery. I am also trying to decide if I should allow her to straighten out the big toe.*
