Hello Everyone, My name is Jim. I am 33 years old and a semi active (hiking, biking, I wanted to start running soon and get in better shape) 300lb man.

On 4/12/14 I rolled my ankle and heard a pop. Instantly I could not put any weight on my foot. On 4/13/14 I woke up feeling even more sore, I decided to go to the urgent care center. I had x-rays and was told I have a fracture of the fifth metatarsal and was given an aircast and was told to bear weight as tolerated.

I had my follow up with the orthopedic office today, they reviewed my x-ray and said I have a Jones Fracture. The DR said that I can opt to have surgery or not and explained the risks of each. I am not sure what I should do.

I would like to hear stories and recommendations from people that have dealt with jones fractures.

    Thanks for your time!

    ~Jim

I should also add that the DR today said that I had slight bone displacement but nothing to worry about...
