I had a six week x-ray recently for my Jones fracture, was told that it looked good from the radiologist and minimal healing by the doctor. Unsure of what's true but they look good to me? I'm so confused.

There is not much healing there if that if 6 weeks. What is more important, is how does it feel?

No pain, it doesn't hurt at all. I feel like I could just walk on (but obviously I haven't tried). I'm hoping for more healing when I go back for an X-ray next week.

How much healing do you think there is? Is the white filling in the gap at least a good sign?

I'm no doctor, but I did have a Jones fracture last year and the thing that made it a Jones fracture was that the break was in the vascular watershed where circulation is bad. That spot would be in front of the fat part of the bone in front of the joint, more in the area of the space between the metatarsals if that makes any sense. If I'm looking at that X-ray right it sure looks like it's an avulsion fracture, where the break is behind the bad spot. Those should heal more reliably and quickly. And it looks to me like it's healing though it's hard to tell from an internet image and also, again, because I'm not a doctor.

Yeah, I agree. I had a couple of the doctors I saw disagree on which it was, but I didn't have health insurance to go to the specialist until now. It's been 8 weeks since the fracture and I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow. The doctor I saw a few days ago said the fracture looks healed but now it looks like I have bone death, so I'm really scared to find out what I'm going to have to deal with next. At least I can get better help now, but it sucks that maybe I made something worse by not getting right care, especially since it could have just been a simple fracture all along. I'm very frustrated and ready for it to be over. I'm 21 and go to school and live alone, so it's been a very rough couple of months.
