I am trying to find the right insoles to help with my plantar fasciitis pain. I tried a bunch of different ones and they all made the pain worse - all feeling like the arch support was hitting too far toward my heel. At the suggestion of the owner of a local shoe shop, I tried going one size bigger. This felt much better and I wore those without incident for the last year. They didn't make the pain didn't go away, but it helped. Now I am ready to replace my shoes and insoles, but I have a question.

Does the fact that I am oversizeing my insoles mean I am loosing out on arch support? Or is it possible I need the bigger size?

I am tempted to buy the "proper" size and see if I can tolerate them now since I have been doing the calf stretches more over the last year, but I hate to throw $60 away since they are not returnable.
