During the track season, I noticed some pain at the base of the big toe on my right foot. It was the most evident with deep extension of the toe or landing from jumps. However, there was never any swelling or tenderness to touch. Recently, I got surgery on my right knee to remove a benign tumour and was therefore off the leg for a period of three weeks. Now that I have began to walk again, I noticed that the pain has returned but is still without swelling or tenderness to touch. Anyone have any idea what the pain could be caused by?
