Previously I've suffered an ingrown toenail on the left side of my big toe and had it removed as seen below. I'm unsure if my toenail is ingrown or not as I can easily reach the side of the nail unlike the time my nail suffered an ingrown toenail on the opposite side. The skin is tender which concerns me. It all started after jogging quite a bit, one day I noticed the skin on the big toe a little swollen over the toenail. I ended up pushing it aside to check for an ingrown nail to seemingly find none. Ever since I pushed the skin aside...

I've soaked my toe a few times in Epsom salt water, but it appears to be ineffective.
