I am in the United States. About a week and a half ago I noticed that my left inner arch hurt when I walked. I don't recall any injury (Haven't tripped, slipped, started an exercise program or anything that I can pin down that would be a likely trigger - but that doesn't mean there wasn't something that I just didn't register as being important). Then I noticed pain at my inner ankle on the same foot, and several days later I noticed the ankle and arch area had mild swelling and redness. The pain is fairly mild. I can walk normally without limping, but sometimes find myself walking on the ouside of my foot to avoid the discomfort. Stopped by the nurse at work who suggested taking aleve and using ice on it periodically (I haven't done too good on the icing - only once a day, but it does make it feel better when I do). One of my concerns is whether I am likely to do more damage by dulling the pain but not doing anything else to address the problem. Any thoughts you could share with me would be appreciated. (I understand that you have not seen my foot, and it's general information and not a diagnosis or medical advice that you would be sharing). Thanks.
