Shin and foot numbness after a break

    I broke my 5th metatarsal 18 days ago and for days mow I have numbness on the top of my foot and up the front/side of my shin. I also still have very dark bruising on the bridge of my foot at the 2nd and 3rd toes as well as the side under and around the ankle.

    That indicates there might be some damage to the nerves. Too early to tell what is going on. Just monitor it over the next few weeks.

    That's what I was wondering. I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon yesterday because of that and the dark bruising and swelling still being so prevalent. My appt. is in an hour. Wish me luck!
