Hello, I have not been able to find anything on this anywhere. I have peripheral edema and neuropathy from meds I have taken, I have been unwell for years with this. One of the things that happened is 'positional' pain. When I wake up in the morning the two middle toe tips (I think, it's so overwhelming I cannot distinguish exactly) feel like they are going to burst the pain is so INTENSE... if I even try to turn my foot they scream out, I have to stay in the same position for the pain not to occur. But, I have to get out of bed! It seems to only last a few minutes and I eventually, and very slowly, move my body first and my foot (very carefully) last... and then it's all gone! And stays gone until the next morning. These toe tips feel like they are going to pop and it is only the toe tips and only happens when I wake up. Is this weird, or what? Anyone heard of anything like this?

Sound like it is a 'nerve' problem, probably related to your neuropathy. Perhaps a nerve being pinched somewhere from the position you are sleeping in. Perhaps see what a neurologist has to say about it.
