Hello, here's my foot story, it will take a while but please bear with me. I was playing football (lineman), and I stepped on my foot really weird. I felt it pop about 5 times . practice was almost over and I just thought it was a sprain, so I played through it but it really hurt. I limped to my car, drove home, and had trouble bearing weight. foot swelled up and I was diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain. was in a boot, missed spring football. that summer I still had pain in my mid-foot, jumping, and it would pop and hurt ALOT. I came back the first day of two-a-days and stepped on it weird... again. I went back to my doctor and was misdiagnosed... again. they tried to rehab my foot, but it just got worse. went to a foot specialist and was diagnosed with a lisfranc dislocation. 8mm separation between my 1st and 2nd metatarsal. had 2 surgeries and was given an artificial ligament. Came back the next spring, and had a pain in my 5th metatarsal area, stress fracture, missed spring. Now I come back to two-a-days and there is still a pain in my 5th metatarsal. sorry for the long story. My question is... is it ok to play through this pain? I can, but I don't wanna jack up my foot forever. it only hurts when I press off the side of my foot, but I always do that being a lineman . please someone tell me if I should get this checked out? I kinda feel like I'm over reacting to the pain, but I just don't want another surgery. Thanks alot for any answers and sorry again for text length.
