I noticed some reddening around the cuticle of my almost 2 year old daughter's toenail (right foot, big toe) a few weeks ago. I asked her if it hurt and she said no. Everyday. I kept watching it, the redness did not spread, and she had no complaints. About a week ago, I was clipping her toenails, and noticed the left side of the nail appeared to be "raised" a bit, as if she'd caught it on something. Again, wasn't bothering her. Well after her bath yesterday, I noticed the nail is coming off completely. From the cuticle up, around the sides and at the tip of her toe are reddened, and she's saying "ouch" now to it. Should I assume she stubbed it or injured it in some way, or should I be concerned?

Probably nothing to be concerned about. Keep an eye on it.
She probably did stum it and it probbaly did hurt at the time, but when you noticed the changes in teh nail, that would have been days/weeks after the initial event.
