left foot pain

    I am almost 1 month into a pain, base of the 5th metatarsal. All 3 xrays and mri negative . Started after I was up and down a step ladder for several hours .
    Been in walking boot for same time frame. Off of work for 3 week s. I am on my feet 6 out of 8 hours per day .
    Tried walking without and normally however caused extreme pain.
    Thoughts ?
